The MCITP Consumer Support Technician on Windows Vista certification is for the individual who would provide phone support as a helpdesk technician.

Candidates should have knowledge in network connectivity, client operating systems like Windows Vista, security and applications like Microsoft Office.

With this certification you will provide resolutions for basic logon problems. You will also perform password resets and resolve most issues with desktop applications.

This certification requires only two exams:

1.) Exam 70-620 TS: Configuring Microsoft Windows Vista Client

2.) Exam 70-623 Pro: Microsoft Desktop Support – CONSUMER

Please Note: Microsoft has said that these exams will be retired July 31, 2013.

The Exam 70-620 will cover topics like:

The Exam 70-623 will cover topics like:

  4. Configure, Troubleshoot, and Repair Networking
  5. Install, Configure, and Troubleshoot Devices
  6. Troubleshoot and Repair Windows Vista

These programs will allow you to run virtual machines instead of using more than one physical computer when practicing at home.
